Speaker,

Sydney’s Inner West is well served by public transport.

The Minns Labor Government is focused on making sure people in my community can rely on services that are frequent, accessible and work for everyone’s busy lives.

Speaker,

Sydney’s Inner West is well served by public transport.

The Minns Labor Government is focused on making sure people in my community can rely on services that are frequent, accessible and work for everyone’s busy lives.

The investments we are making in public transport matter.

They support growing communities, ease congestion on our local roads, and help people get to work, education and essential services more easily.

For Annandale locals, the light rail is central to daily travel.

The Inner West Light Rail Dulwich Hill Line, the L1, services Annandale through a number of well-located stops that provide strong local access.

Rozelle Bay serves the northern and eastern parts of Annandale.

Lilyfield serves the north western part of the suburb.

Jubilee Park provides convenient access for the eastern end of Annandale.

The Government has continued to strengthen these services.

Speaker,

Since June 2023, more than 650 additional light rail services have been added each week on the L1.

In April 2024, operating hours were extended, with services now running from 5am until 1am every day.

So we have services every 6 minutes during the peak as well as on weekends and public holidays between 10am and 7pm.

Speaker,

These improvements deliver real benefits for locals.

Between May 2023 and May 2026, average weekday tap ons at Annandale light rail stops increased by 67 per cent, while tap offs increased by 69 per cent.

Bus services also play a vital role across the Inner West.

Annandale is well serviced by frequent and reliable bus routes.

The 470 operates between Lilyfield and the Sydney CBD, running at least every ten minutes from Monday to Saturday, and every fifteen minutes on Sundays, from early morning until around midnight.

The 469 provides regular connections between Leichhardt Marketplace and Glebe via Booth Street, operating every thirty minutes or better.

Between May 2023 and May 2026, average weekday bus tap ons in Annandale increased by 13 per cent, with tap offs up by 9 per cent.

Speaker -

As our community grows, existing connections will be complemented by ferry investments.

This includes improvements to the F10 route, services at the new Sydney Fish Market, and future connections as part of Bays West.

That is alongside improvements on the Parramatta River F3 route, with ferry services returning to Elliott Street Wharf in Balmain West in August 2025.

We are investing in public transport that makes a real difference for Inner West residents.

If you live in the Inner West, you know you have reliable, frequent and accessible options, and these services will only continue to improve.
