Jo Haylen moves that this House:

1. Acknowledges that 19-25 June is national Refugee Week, celebrating the invaluable contribution refugees and asylum seekers make to our Australian community.

2. Notes the important work of community groups in the Inner West who support refugees, including the Addison Road Community Centre, Metro Assist, The Bread and Butter Project, Mums 4 Refugees, the Asylum Seeker Centre Newt own, Ethnic Community Services Cooperative, Community and Cultural Connections and The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre.

3. Congratulates the former Ashfield Council and Mayor Darcy Byrne, for opening the Inner West Refugee Welcome Centre in Callan Park, an example of compassionate leadership that will have a meaningful and practical impact on the lives of Refugees.
