Inner West commuters have voiced their frustration and anger with the Baird Government’s management of the bus network with over 2,660 complaints lodged in the last financial year by Summer Hill residents.

Documents obtained under Freedom of Information (FOI) by the Opposition have shown which bus routes are causing commuters in the Summer Hill electorate the most grief each day.

Commuters in Sydney’s on the 423 route have vented their frustrations the most with 393 complaints made in the last year – an average of 1 per day.

Those commuters relying on the 413 service to take them from Ashbury to the city have also vented their frustrations with 220 complaints made about the route.

A table below details the ten worst services in Summer Hill.

Despite commuter’s dissatisfaction with the service the Government is continuing its plan to scrap the Opal card reward that allows for free travel after eight trips in one week.

The decision to scrap the tax will result in commuters forced to pay more for their weekly travel.

Quotes attributable to Member for Summer Hill, Jo Haylen MP

Commuters in Summer Hill aren’t going to take the Baird Government’s bungle of the bus network lying down.

“Commuters have a right to expect a bus to arrive on time and stop where it is supposed to. It’s no wonder so many people in Summer Hill are voicing their frustration.

“People are speaking out about the unreliable services they’re receiving from the Government run buses.”
