I strongly encourage everyone to get involved with this year's National Recycling Week, on from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 November. National Recycling Week was established in 1996 by Planet Ark and seeks to educate and drive behavioural change through promoting recycling initiatives and giving people the tools to minimise waste at home, work, or school. This year's theme is "What goes around comes around" asking us all to think about not just what we originally use a product for, but what happens to it when we are finished? How can we do our best to make sure that our recycling comes back as something more than waste? Ensuring that we make the most of all our resources is an issue that I care deeply about, along with many in my Inner West community. It is a wonderful opportunity to join an event near you; at home, at work, with your local school, local council or community group and if you can't find an event consider starting one!
