That this House:

1. Welcomes the decision to abandon proposals for a weekend clearway on King Street, a proposal which would have negatively impacted on business in Newtown.
2. Notes that the Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight has refused to rule out a clearway on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, which will similarly impact on businesses in Ashfield.
3. Notes also that Liverpool Road has been proposed as a spoil truck haulage route for the WestConnex M4-M5 Link, which will negatively impact businesses, residents and students at Ashfield Boys High School and Ashfield Public School.
4. Calls on the Government to immediately abandon these plans.
