I move that this House:
-
Notes the strong community support for extending all-night pharmacies in Sydney, giving access to vital medications when they are needed.
-
Notes that the success of all-night home doctor services is limited by the fact prescriptions cannot be filled in the night and that the lack of all-night pharmacies has a direct impact on emergency room waiting times.
-
Calls on the Government to trial a scheme subsidising some pharmacies to stay open all-night for a period of three years until these services become self-sustaining, so as to give peace of mind to sick and elderly residents and families at times of out of hours need.
